Book Reviews: Mistborn - The Final Empire

I'm willing to go on a limb and say that Mistborn is one of the best, if not the best, fantasy book I've read in a long time.  Sure there's some steady competition, and my tastes always change from day to day, so I can't ever really claim a book as my absolute favorite.

Book Reviews: Searching for Dragons

Something odd is happening in the Enchanted Forest.  The magical lines are all messed up, and someone–or some dragon–has burned an entire section of the forest, and drained the magic out of it, allowing just anyone to wander in uninvited.

Book Reviews: Dealing with Dragons

If I had to describe this book in one sentence, a sentence that could describe the entire series, it would be that Cimorene is the only sane person in a world that runs on fairy tale logic.  Cimorene is a princess, who is malcontent with the usual princessly duties.  So she decides to run away and become a dragon's princess.  At first things seem perfect, the dragon Kazul is less interested in eating Cimorene, and more interested in her Cherries Jubilee.

Anime Reviews: Fairy Tail Episode 86 - Erza vs Erza

Gray and Erza are able to use their magic to fight off the soldiers.  Erza and Erza fight each other, while Gray explains how they got there.  This is done through another filler segment, however since the filler is actually interesting, and fills in something the manga left out, it's the good kind of filler.

Anime Reviews: Fairy Tail Episode 85 - Code ETD

The King orders Lucy executed, and though Lucy tries to appeal to Erza Knightwalker, the alternate reality version of her friend drops her off a tower.  At the last minute Lucy is saved by Happy and Charle.  Charle claims to be the Queen's daughter, but they are quickly ousted as the Fallen, and have to escape.

Movie Reviews: Kung Fu Panda 2

I've seen my fair share of good sequels, it's gotten to the point where it's kind of unnerving.  One of my core beliefs in life is that sequels always suck.  Well if that's the case how do I explain the Toy Story franchise?  Or how about Kung Fu Panda 2.

Movie Reviews: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Parts 1 + 2

It occurred to me that I never did review the first half of the last Harry Potter movie.  I think that movie came out after I'd decided not to do any more movie reviews.  But now that I've decided to start writing those again (mostly as a ploy to prove that my interests span beyond just anime and manga), I might as well make up for my oversight last year.  And since the two movies are actually parts of a single movie, and not individual movies in their own rights, I find it appropriate to review them at once.
